The CultOrale Scarl Consortium CultOrale SCaRL, established in 2005, is a “Body for Research”, according to the Community guidelines no. 2006 / C 323/01, letter d) of Section 2.2. It is a non-profit entity whose principal purpose is to realize basic research, industrial research or experimental development activities and to disseminate their results by way of the teaching, publications or technology transfer.

In context of research the consortium conducts studies, prototype applications and pilot projects aiming to the of barriers elimination to the use of computer systems and, more generally, tending to increase, through the appropriate use of technology, the inclusion of disadvantaged groups in the modern e-society, particular in favor of blind and visually impaired people.
